Join Oak & Stone at The Longest Table

An extremely long table full of great friends, delectable food, and perfectly paired drinks, The Longest Table brings together some of the finest restaurants for a fun night out in St. Petersburg, Florida. This year will be Oak & Stones’ first year participating in the event we couldn't be more excited to start serving food in the Tampa Bay area. Each course has been handpicked and delicately crafted for a perfectly paired four-course menu to satisfy your Oak & Stone craving.

The first course will feature a lightly fried Tempura Hogfish, with Ponzu and Jicama seasoned with Schichimi Togarashi all paired with 3 Daughters Hard Apple Cider. Here is what our beer aficionado Tommy had to say about the pairings:

This Cider is what great hard apple should be: slightly sweet with a medium body and very refreshing. A great choice for this dish as the sweetness will play a game of tug of war with the Hogfish caught in the middle as the saltiness of the ponzu will pull you back in with each bite.

Caesar ‘Salad’ is on the menu for the second course. This ‘salad’ will have crispy Kale Chips, Sourdough Onions, Lemon Caviar, and Parmesan Boqueron Espuma. This course will be paired with Darwin - Circa 1926 Tangerine Wit. Are you drooling yet?

This pairing will be opposite from the last where everyone should get along. Pours a golden color. A refreshing American Wheat ale brewed with orange, coriander and citra spices. Aromas of cereal grains, tangerine and coriander carry to the flavors on the palate that will play nicely with the citrus in the caviar and sourdough onions.

For the third course, Cigar City - Guayabera Citra Pale Ale will be paired with Rosemary Honey Fried Chicken accompanied with a Purple Fingerling Potato Puree, Kholrabi Slaw and a Watercress Aioli.

We are going to play nice here as well. Bright berry, lime leaf and tangerine aromas and flavors imparted by an exclusive use of Citra hops are deftly balanced by an assertive bitterness and moderate breadiness from a simple malt bill. All of this will create a head on collision of flavor with the sweet, tangy, and spicy characteristics included in this dish.

The deliciousness doesn’t stop there. Saving the best for last, the fourth and final course is everyone’s favorite… Dessert! A Passionfruit Crème Brûlée with Macadamia Nuts, Sparkling Rasberries, and Szechuan Peppercorn Flowers. The drink of choice with this treat is the Big Top Ringmaster Raspberry Lemon Berliner Weiss.

Saving the best experience for last! This sour pours a pink hue and evokes a perfect balance of sweet and tart. Made with hundreds of pounds of fresh raspberries and a hint of lemon, this is a perfectly refreshing beer in the heat! Here in this instance it will create an explosion of flavors on your pallet as you experiment with creating different combinations of this dish with every bite. The sweet, the sour, the tart, the spice, and the tang should all be experienced if you feel adventurous enough.

WUSF, the University of South Florida’s National Public Radio station, will be hosting the event. The Longest Table will take place on April 12, 2018 in Downtown St. Petersburg. Check-in will be between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. The Grand Toast and dinner will start at 6:30 p.m.! For more information about the event details by clicking here.
